The size of the depot has required two of the distinctive HOWDENS logo's with a cockerel crowing against a red background. More than a passing reference to their confidence in a largely male sector, a statement of fact that they intend to rule the roost when it comes to supplying fitted kitchens, doors, windows, and electrical appliances to the trade (local builders).

This new development reflects the scale of the Howdens' operation in mid 2005.

The building has 5 bays, offices, and a beautiful location on a modern business park that has easy access to and from the M65 Motorway that passes by Haslingden on the way to Rawtenstall and Manchester.

The decision to locate adjacent to Plumb Centre was a clever marketing decision and a classic example of relationship marketing (PDF - on theory) where complenentary businesses congregate. Plumbing and kitchen installation require very similar skills - management of water and waste inflow and outflow, and associated plumbing/kitchen products.
